October 9, 2019 - Keel Laying
The keel laying ceremony for USS NANTUCKET (LCS 27) was held at Fincanitieri Marinette Marine on October 9, 2019. The keel laying marks the ceremonial start of construction.

August 7, 2021 - Mast Stepping, Christening & Launch
PCU NANTUCKET was launched at Fincantieri Marinette Marine on Saturday, August 7 after Ship Sponsor christened the Ship USS NANTUCKET. The christening and launch is one of the key milestones in the construction of every ship. Prior to the christening and launch, the mast stepping ceremony took place. The tradition of placing coins beneath the masts of ships dates back to the earliest days of seafaring. Today, in addition to coins, other items are placed in the mast stepping box to represent the Ship's namesake.
