COMMISSIONING CEREMONY INVITATIONS
We received an overwhelming response from and interest in receiving invitations to the commissioning ceremony from the general public after the U.S. Navy announced the date and location of the event. The seating capacity of the pier is nearly at capacity. As a result, the Commissioning Committee is now only able to accept requests for invitations from year-round and seasonal residents of Nantucket to ensure island residents have the opportunity to attend the commissioning of the ship named for the island.
The Commissioning Ceremony for USS NANTUCKET (LCS 27) is a free, public event, however tickets are required. To obtain tickets to the Ceremony, please complete the request form below to receive an invitation from the Department of the Navy. Invitations will be sent approximately 60 days prior to the ceremony. At this time, the date for the Commissioning Ceremony has not been finalized.
Invitations to the Ceremony for family members and friends of the Ship's crew are handled separately from the list collected by the Commissioning Committee. If you are family member or friend of a USS NANTUCKET crew member, please contact your crew member directly to be added to the invitation list.
We look forward to seeing you in Boston to celebrate the Ship coming to life!
